NYS Nurses Association endorses Brindisi for Congress

By Samantha Madison

The New York State Nurses Association endorsed Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi, D-Utica, for Congress.

The association is the state’s largest union and professional association for registered nurses, according to a news release about the endorsement.

“Anthony Brindisi is exactly the kind of leader that New Yorkers need in Congress,” said Marva Wade, chair of the New York State Nurses Association PAC. “During his time as a member of the New York State Assembly, he established himself as a true fighter for high quality and affordable health care, collective bargaining rights, women’s rights as well as a champion for the middle class.”

Brindisi said in the release that he is proud to have received the endorsement of the association.

“A healthcare system that provides quality, affordable care for our patients is not possible if we don’t support our nurses,” Brindisi said. “I’m a firm believer that we can build a better, more affordable healthcare system that works for everyone, and I look forward to carrying that mission to Congress with the support of the nurses of New York.
