NEW YORK PUBLIC EMPLOYEES FEDERATION ENDORSES ANTHONY BRINDISI FOR CONGRESS

New York State’s Public Employees Federation, the union representing over 54,000 New York public sector employees, announced its endorsement of Anthony Brindisi for Congress today. Brindisi has been a strong ally of workers throughout his time in the Assembly, and PEF joins a growing list of local unions to endorse Brindisi.

“PEF and I share the belief that hard-working public sector employees deserve fair wages for their work. For decades, PEF and other unions have secured a better life for countless families in our district. I’m honored by PEF’s endorsement and I look forward to being an advocate for their hard-working members in Congress,” said Brindisi. “Public sector unions are facing an unprecedented and dangerous attack on their right to collectively bargain and the people of NY-22 deserve a representative who will stand up and fight for workers’ rights.”

PEF President Wayne Spence said, “The Public Employees Federation is proud to endorse Anthony Brindisi in his campaign for election to Congress. As a New York State Assemblyman, Brindisi fought tirelessly on behalf of working families, to ensure our children receive quality education, and to fight for better wages and improved healthcare for all New Yorkers. At a time when anti-union forces are ramping up efforts to tear us down, we know Anthony Brindisi has our backs.”

PEF represents a wide array of public sector workers including nurses, engineers, and accountants across the 22nd district and all of New York. Since 1979, it has been organizing to secure better wages and working conditions for tens of thousands of New Yorkers.
