CLAUDIA TENNEY’S NEW FUNDRAISING REPORTS INCLUDE “SCAM PAC” DONATION & 150K IN NEW CORPORATE PAC MONEY

Claudia Tenney is known for her ties with some unsavory donors, and new fundraising reports show she continued her pattern of taking massive amounts of campaign cash from corporations. From July - September, Tenney accepted $147,344 from corporate PACs seeking to influence the race in the 22nd Congressional District.

“From fake charities to corrupt billionaires to the same corporations ripping off consumers in the 22nd district, the worst special interests are lining up to bankroll Claudia Tenney’s campaign,” said Ellen Foster, campaign manager for Anthony Brindisi. “It’s not hard to see why. She’ll do their bidding in Congress by voting to cut taxes for the wealthy, roll back rules meant to prevent another recession by keeping big banks in check, and drive up healthcare premiums so insurance companies make more money. And while folks in NY-22 are struggling to make ends meet, she spent lavishly to stay at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas."

Below are the top highlights from Tenney’s 3rd quarter fundraising report:

  1. $1,322 paid to Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas

  2. $50,326 from financial services and accounting PACs - including $1,000 from Bank of America and $1,576.92 from Advance America Cash Advance Centers, a payday lender.

  3. $11,617 from the oil & gas industry

  4. $2,700 from National Assistance Committee - which Politico called a "Scam PAC"

  5. $2,500 from The Geo Group - a private prison firm involved in the ICE/HHS detention of children

  6. $5,000 from Citizens United - the special interest group that led the charge in corrupting elections to allow corporations to spend unlimited amounts to influence their outcomes.
